AuSHS – President’s Report – 10 April 2019

On behalf of AuSHS I am pleased to announce we will be holding our annual half day event Future of Horticulture 2019

This will be a complimentary event to be held in Melbourne on Monday 24th June from 1pm to 5:30pm. The event is being held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, as a shoulder event to Hort Connections 2019.

Registration for Future of Hort 2018 is now open.

The aim of FOH2019 is to promote and enhance Australian horticultural science and industry. FOH2019 will again focus on a variety of aspects relating to the future of horticulture in Australia including innovation, precision agriculture and engaging with the next generation.

The event structure will provide presentations from leading researchers around the country as well as short speed update presentations, regional updates, an award for best student presentation and a panel discussion to provide a snapshot of current and future horticultural research in Australia.

The purpose of the event is to share and promote horticultural research and the profession of horticulture; to encourage young and early career scientists and to provide networking opportunities for our members. The event will foster and raise the profession of horticultural science and promote AuSHS.

Currently in its 2nd year the Future of Horticulture aims to be held annually to promote and enhance Australian horticultural science and industry.

The complimentary event is open to members and non-members of AuSHS. While attendance at Hort Connections is not compulsory to attend the Future of Horticulture 2019, all delegates registering to attend FoH2019 are strongly encouraged to also register to attend Hort Connections by clicking HERE.

Delegates of Future of Hort 2019 will receive complimentary passes to the welcome reception at Hort Connections 2019.

We hope you can join us to discuss the future of horticulture.
